Sam Evans
PCI

Hi, I’m Sam Evans! After graduating from Texas A&M University with a degree in

psychology, I spent time working various jobs, traveling, and living abroad before settling down in Colorado. These experiences reinforced my love for adventure, spicy food, and connecting with people. I decided to pursue a career in counseling because I love listening to stories and helping others take steps to find healing and growth. As an intern therapist, I am finishing coursework to complete my master’s in clinical mental health counseling and can offer

counseling services at a discounted rate.

Working with teenagers, individual adults, and couples, I hope to provide a supportive and collaborative space where you can feel genuinely seen and heard. I enjoy incorporating art therapy techniques and neuroscience to process trauma and promote healing through both creative and evidenced-based practices. I believe that you are the author of your own story, and I would love to come alongside you to explore meaning, identity, and personal freedom to

overcome challenges and create lasting change.

tEENS

I work with teens who are navigating issues of anxiety, depression, identity questions, stress, school pressures, and social challenges. I specialize in processing past traumas,

navigating questions about sexuality, and exploring values to discover what you find to be truly meaningful. With issues of self-esteem, isolation, and loneliness on the rise, I hope to create a space where you feel heard, supported, and empowered. At the same time, I collaborate with

parents to help bridge gaps in communication and build stronger and healthier relationships within the family unit.

cOUPLES

Whether you are dating, engaged, newly married, or have been married for decades, every relationship experiences times when you get stuck in unhealthy patterns and feel

disconnected. Coming from an attachment perspective, I believe that we often bring theVmaladaptive behaviors we experienced in relationships growing up into our present dynamics. I collaboratively work with couples to create a space where both partners feel understood in order

to foster connection. Together, we can work to explore not only what is happening but why it is happening. Whether you are experiencing conflict, navigating major life transitions, orrecovering from rupture, I am here to help gain insights and practical tools to build trust, improve

communication, and find joy in being together.

Perinatal and Postpartum Care

Motherhood can be both beautiful and incredibly challenging. If you are experiencing, anxiety, depression, or just feel like you are out of touch with yourself, I am here to help you feel less alone. Whether you are a first-time mom, experiencing infertility or pregnancy loss, or adding to your family, I want to offer you a space to process the thoughts and emotions that occur during this time. The perinatal and postpartum periods bring profound changes to your mind, body, identity, and relationships. Whatever you are feeling, I am here to offer compassionate, non-judgemental support while integrating tools to help you better understand

the internal and external changes that you are experiencing. I believe that therapy at this stage in your life can lead to generational healing through processing trauma, breaking unhealthy cycles, and exploring ways to grow.

How I Help

I believe that healing happens within relationships. Therefore, my therapeutic process is rooted in establishing authentic relationships with my clients, creating a non-judgmental space and collaborating with clients to foster change. Coming from an existential perspective, I am passionate about helping clients explore meaning, find purpose, embrace uncertainties, and foster autonomy to overcome challenges. I also incorporate principles of attachment theory and

cognitive behavioral therapy in order to help you better understand how the past impacts the present and move forward. As a counseling intern, I practice under the license and supervision of a licensed professional counselor.

About Me

I am married, and we have a spunky rescue dog named Cholula. Growing up on the back of my dad’s Harley made me fall in love with adrenaline and adventure. Luckily, I live in Colorado, where I spend most of my free time hiking or rock climbing. I love to travel, explore diverse cultures, and try new food whenever I get the chance!
